SCINTIL Photonics develops and markets fully-integrated silicon photonic circuits. SCINTIL solutions combine the best of Silicon (Si) and Indium Phosphide (InP) photonics using wafer-scale bonding of III-V/InP on Si. We use commercial silicon photonic foundry to fabricate our photonic integrated circuits (PIC).
SCINTIL’s technology draws upon over 15 years of research in lasers, silicon photonics, and 3D packaging carried out at CEA-Leti, a world-leading semiconductor research institute. SCINTIL’s unique solution enables an extensive integration of active and passive optical components comprising multi-wavelength lasers, waveguides, wavelength filters, and photodetectors. While improving performances and reliability, it significantly reduces implementation costs.
Besides high-speed optical communications, SCINTIL's technology promises great advantages in 3D Sensing and Quantum Photonics applications.
Based in Grenoble, France, SCINTIL is currently taking its innovative heterogeneous silicon photonic IC technology to an industrial level as it gears up for mass production.
It was recognized for its technology as the winner of the iLab 2018 contest organized by Bpifrance (Banque Public d'Investissement).
