SCINTIL Photonics was awarded the Grand Prize at the Trophées des Future Licornes, ahead of 1,400 pre-selected companies – a recognition of its strong growth potential and ability to achieve a €1-billion valuation.

On June 10, SCINTIL Photonics received the Grand Prize – the most prestigious distinction of the evening – at the Trophées des Futures Licornes (Future Unicorn Trophies) ceremony, in the presence of a high-profile jury and some of France’s most innovative companies.

This new award – the latest in a long series of distinctions granted by French, European and international institutions – highlights SCINTIL Photonics’s remarkable growth potential, as well as its ability to achieve a valuation exceeding one billion euros within the next five years. A specialist in integrated silicon photonics, a field experiencing strong demand, and the owner of a unique technology originally born at CEA-Leti, SCINTIL has in fact experienced unprecedented growth for more than a year.

At a time when artificial intelligence is driving demand for datacenters with unprecedented computing power, the SHIP™ (SCINTIL Heterogeneous Integrated Photonics) technology has enabled the development of LEAF Light™, the world’s very first single-chip, DWDM-native laser source. Designed to provide high-density and low power optical connectivity in scale-up networks, LEAF Light™ has already caught the attention of key investors and partners – such as NVIDIA, that joined SCINTIL’s latest fundraising round in September 2025 – and explains SCINTIL’s selection by the Trophées des Futures Licornes.

“The Trophées des Futures Licornes jury is delighted to present the Grand Prize to SCINTIL Photonics. The company has everything it takes to achieve outstanding success: cutting-edge technology, the resources to fuel its growth, and a wealth of practical applications whose impact is amplified by AI,” the organizers commented.

“It is an honor to receive this trophy in recognition of the work accomplished since the creation of the company in 2018,” said Yannick Paillard, Chief Commercial Officer, who accepted the award on behalf of SCINTIL. “Nothing would have been possible without the efforts of our talented, passionate, and diverse team. This Grand Prize is for them.”
